The Explorers Guild is a gathering of people from all over Yliakum who love to seek out new and hidden places, to reach new heights and depths—people who desire to travel and see every detail of our world. We stand together to ensure the freedom of this journey, for each other and for all those living with a true spirit of exploration. The solitary soul can find shelter with our Guild, yet there is friendship and fun for those who seek it, and if you are ever lost or need a guide, look no further than the Explorers Guild.

Organization

Each Explorer chooses one of several Folds which represents their area of special interest in the journey of exploration. We steer away from limited systems which try to artificially arrange members into the world’s many tasks. If we seek assistance in any field we can find a Fold who, by virtue of their interests, naturally excels in that field. Each Explorer is empowered by all the Folds to progress down their chosen path, and ultimately become who they want to be in the world of PlaneShift.

Beyond Fold membership and Overseers, the Explorers have no ranks. We feel people will gain the respect of others through their actions, and take on challenges simply for the fun of it. In our family, each member is important.

Mordaan Thakkar oversees the guild, along with the help of the rest of the Overseers.

Politics

Our wish is simply to explore these lands freely, without being swept up in the latest quarrels and wars. We are fully neutral—no official allies nor enemies. We never directly interfere in the matters of other guilds. Any villain who would stand in our way will face not only our own passion, but the anger of many who recognize and honour our way.

Guild History

The Explorers Guild is one of the oldest surviving guilds today—many members were part of the Molecular Blue release; some even played Atomic Blue.

• The guild was founded on May 11th, 2003 by Havena Tanuviel.
• On December 21st, 2003, Havena entrusted the guild to Nilaya Kaeli, who led it faithfully for three years.
• At the start of 2007, Nilaya turned over the office to Mordaan Thakkar, who leads it today.
